Concert Miyazaki par Miyazaki

The Ensemble Orchestral de Biarritz offers an exceptional concert featuring Mieko Miyazaki, a Japanese artist renowned worldwide as one of the greatest Koto players.
Likened in legend to a dragon lying on the beach, conversing with the waves, the Koto has accompanied poets’ songs in Japan for over ten centuries. The instrument of the nobility par excellence, this 13-string paulownia wood zither was imported from China in the 8th century, and has been played throughout Japanese history, from court music to contemporary works.
The artist, who is also a composer, has specially written scores for the string instruments of the Ensemble Orchestral de Biarritz.
The repertoire, specially arranged for this concert, includes works by Hayao Miyazaki, Ennio Moriconne, Francis Lai and Yann Tiersen. A unique date!
